Post Animal are well good at all the musics, just try 'em they can do sweet country picking, power pop, glistening dream pop folk, a chugging yacht rock banger ala Toto, a skittish experimental piano workout to what sounds like recordings from an answering machine to something that sounds like Sparks. They're like those yacht rock bands that when you dig deeper are cool af, ace players, a little bit prog but ultimately just fans of making good songs. This also sees Joe Keery return to the band after heading off to do Stranger Things and his Djo thing. 

When Post Animal stepped into the studio for their new album IRON, it was the first time all six original members were in the studio together for nearly a decade. Three band members had recently relocated away from Chicago, not to mention Joe Keery having left the band in 2017 to focus on acting. In the end they started right back up at the beginning, rediscovering that uncompromising closeness of connection they all shared from those endless hours spent in practice spaces and the late-night diner runs that follow.
